Appalachian Trail Thru Hiker Raising Funds for NICHES

 

NICHES Land Trust is honored to be the charity selected by Danielle "Nicci" Lee, who will be hiking the Appalachian Trail this spring and summer. We are partnering with Nicci to help spread the word about this undertaking and hope you will cheer her along as she gives updates along her way.

 

 

My name is Danielle (Nicci) Lee. Hiking and being in nature has been a passion of mine since childhood. The idea of hiking the Appalachian Trail was sparked in high school, but I never gave myself the time to do it. After getting out of the military, I decided it was time to go for it. I have spent the last year and a half traveling and training for the trail. I plan on starting this spring.

The Appalachian Trail is 2,190 miles from Georgia to Maine. I’m using the hike as a fundraising opportunity to help support a nonprofit called NICHES Land Trust. Donations can be made for every mile hiked or they can be made at a flat rate. I chose this organization because they represent something that is so important to me. They work on protecting our natural areas and ecosystems, in order for future generations to enjoy them.
