The Sprout Quarterly Newsletter
2025 Winter
In this final edition of our 30th anniversary year, we announce the acquisition of Sea Lily Seeps, a 13-acre nature preserve along Sugar Creek in Montgomery County, protecting rich fossil deposits, diverse native plants, and vital seepage wetlands near our Walnut Fork Nature Reserve. We recap a panel event with organizational founders that shared stories and insight into the early years of NICHES organizational life. NICHES Stewardship Director Bob Easter shares how discoveries of rare and state-listed plants, birds, reptiles, and insects across our preserves guide stewardship and confirm the success of our habitat management efforts. We also share stories from this years AmeriCorps NCCC projects and reflect on teams that we've hosted over the past 6 years.
