This June, NICHES Land Trust celebrates 31 years of protecting the lands we love. As we prepare for our Birthday Celebration on June 6, we’re reflecting with gratitude on how far we’ve come and all that our supporters have made possible along the way.
From the very beginning, NICHES has been built by passionate, dedicated individuals who deeply care for the land and are committed to preserving it for future generations. Strategic thinkers, conservationists, legal experts, artists, volunteers, and community supporters have each contributed their talents generously, helping build a strong foundation thoughtfully, sustainably, and with a clear vision for the future.
Over the years, NICHES has grown steadily – not too fast, but with intention. From early land acquisitions to achieving accreditation, from establishing a stewardship endowment to welcoming new generations of leadership, every milestone has been made possible by people who believed in the mission and invested in the future.
Today, that work continues through a new generation of passionate leaders, longtime members, volunteers, and legacy donors who remain committed to protecting and caring for these special places.

- Care for public lands by maintaining 18 miles of trails, restoring habitats, and safeguarding wildlife.
- Protect clean water by preserving wetlands and forested stream corridors.
- Expand protected preserves so future generations can experience the peace and beauty of nature.
Your Gift Will Have Double the Impact
Thanks to several generous community members, every gift made between June 1–30 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $31,000. That means your donation will go twice as far to protect more land, care for nature preserves, expand public access to the outdoors, and ensure these special places remain protected for generations to come.
